Lube Blending Plant in Malaysia

Since the construction completion in 1995, Hyrax Oil’s blending plant in Meru initially started operation as a dedicated top-quality transformer oils production line.  Later in 1997, the plant was installed with additional blending kettles and storage tanks, and subsequently has expanded to produce full range of high-performance lubricants.

Upon full installation, with entirely equipped laboratory equipment and services on the spacious 3.5-acre land spanning across 32,000 square feet, the Meru blending plant boasted a production capacity of 50 million litres of lubricants per annum.  This impressive production capacity is made possible by the factory’s state-of-the-art technology and highly skilled workforce.  From the moment raw materials arrive at our factory to the point of delivery, we ensure that our lubricants are produced, tested and packaged to meet our customers’ specific requirements, ensuring that only the best quality lubricants meeting international standards leave the facility.

In addition, Meru plant is strategically located within the vicinity of Port Klang – Malaysia’s busiest seaport.  Hence, the plant is able to leverage on logistical advantage to become an export-oriented facility, enabling us to supply our high-quality lubricants worldwide and ensuring that we meet our customers’ needs and exceed their expectations.

Lube Blending Plant in Sri Lanka

On 24th June 2019, Hyrax Oil proudly inaugurated its Lubricant Blending Plant, in Muthurajawela, Wattala, Sri Lanka through its strategic collaboration with Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) under a Build Operate & Transfer (BOT) Agreement. This is Hyrax Oil’s contribution to Sri Lanka in its nation building effort as we will transfer the plant along with our technology and know-how to CPC at the end of our investment horizon of 20 years.

The opening of Hyrax Oil Lubricant Blending Plant in Sri Lanka is a moment of pride for the company and a step ahead for the country’s lubricants industry. Our close collaboration and partnership with CPC has been the right catalyst in our success in establishing the new plant.

Built across 5-acres, the plant spans 40,000 square feet and has a capacity of 72 million liters per annum to blend automotive, industrial, marine and specialty lubricants, including transformer oil for power and distribution transformers. The plant housed state-of-the-art blending and filling facilities, storage tanks, as well as comprehensive laboratory facility and services which are backed by quality standards and processes benchmarked against global best practices.

With our new plant, we are confident in assisting and alleviating our partner to reposition their business to a greater height through competitive pricing, increased range of products, on and off-site technical supports. This will be the springboard for us to better capture the market not only in Sri Lanka, but in the whole of South Asia.

Intan Munirah Binti Che Roslan

Director

Intan Munirah holds a Bachelor in Business Management majoring in Accounting from Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia after graduating in 2019.  She started her career at Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd in 2021 as a Special Officer to the Group Managing Director where she is assisting in corporate governance and administration. 

Soon after demonstrating her administrative command.  She is now one of the Directors in Hyrax Oil, overseeing the Human Resource, and corporate governance aspect of the company.

Dato' Hazimah Binti Zainuddin

Founder & Group Managing Director

Dato’ Hazimah Zainuddin is the Founder and Group Managing Director of Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd.  Under Dato’ Hazimah’s leadership and astute business sense, Hyrax Oil began producing a broad range of lubricants with exports to over 35 countries.  With her vast knowledge and know-how in the industry, Hyrax Oil has been steadily expanding its business and earned multiple awards and accolades from various institutes and organizations from the year of 1998 to 2020. 

Apart from being at the helm of Hyrax Oil, Dato’ Hazimah is currently the Chairperson for Malaysia External Trade Development (MATRADE) – a government agency tasked with the promotion of Malaysian exports to the rest of the world.  Additionally, she is also the current Chairperson at Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PERNAS) – a company owned by the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOF Inc.) to develop local products, and market them abroad through special franchising schemes as well as promoting investment and foreign franchise brands into Malaysia. 

Formerly, Dato’ Hazimah held a position as the Chairperson in Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) from the year of 2018 to 2020, and also been appointed as a Director in several organizations such as SME Corp Malaysia (2018 – 2020) and Scientex Berhad (2004 – 2013). 

She also contributes her time to be active in various non-governmental associations (NGOs) especially those related to the development of women and entrepreneurship.  She is one of the founders of Women Leadership Foundation (WLF) since 2021 to which the NGOs objectives are to champion gender diversity in business as well as increasing woman participation in the private and public sectors. 

In the past, she was also elected as the President of Peniagawati (2003 – 2012) – the longest established women entrepreneur association in Malaysia that aims to empower women entrepreneurs.  As a leading woman entrepreneur in Malaysia, Dato’ Hazimah has won numerous entrepreneur awards and is an inspiration to many budding entrepreneurs

Al-Haj Habib Kagimu

Global Advisor & Associate Director

AlHaj Kagimu is a Lawyer, and International Public Affairs and Business Consultant, well known in the worldwide business community and within the upper echelons of Governments in Africa, Australasia, the Middle East and beyond.  He is fluent in Luganda, Swahili, Runyankore, Arabic and English.

AlHaj Kagimu is the Chairman of Habib Investments Limited, a Ugandan local company with global reach, which has interests in Oil and Gas, Real Estate, Telecommunications, Security and Agribusiness.  He is also a member of the Mining and Petroleum Exploration Technical Working Group of the Ugandan Presidential Investors Roundtable; and the Uganda Chambers of Commerce and Mining, and Commerce and Industry.

He is currently Hyrax Oil’s Global Advisor and serves as a consultant for the company’s business ventures especially those in the Africa sub-continent.

Muhamad Lutfi Bin Dato’ Mohd Isa

Director

Muhamad Lutfi holds a degree in Business (majoring in Accounting) from Victoria University in Melbourne, Australia after graduating in 2019.  He started his career in 2020 with Ernst & Young’s Assurance Department based in Kuala Lumpur mainly performing auditing work related to the upstream division of the oil and gas industry with the focused scope in production sharing contracts.

Later in 2021, Muhamad Lutfi joined Usaha Kencana Builders Sdn Bhd – a fast growing local engineering and construction company, as a Finance Director, handling the company’s multi-million-ringgit financing needs for its housing development projects of more than 200 houses in Kuantan, Pahang and Langkap, Perak.

In 2022, after a stint in the construction industry, Muhamad Lutfi joined Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd as a Director, overseeing the sales and marketing and operations of the company.  With his youth and career experience, the presence of Muhamad Lutfi is expected to enhance the sales and marketing unit, business digitalization and operational efficiency of Hyrax Oil to the next level.

Ahmad Hafiz Bin Zainol Abidin

Assistant General Manager, Corporate Communications

Hafiz holds a Commerce Degree(majoring in Accounting & Finance) from Murdoch University, Western Australia and possess more than 18 years of working experience in various industries.Hafiz started his career with UEM Group Berhad in 1999 as an Internal Auditor. Later over the years, he served in several subsidiary companies of UEM Group and held his last post as Deputy Senior Manager wherehe diligently served the Office of Senior Director of UEM Group with the portfolios of International Business and Group Strategy &Business Development.

In 2010, Hafiz joined PETRONAS Lubricants International SdnBhd (“PLI”) as a Manager of Business Development and Mergers &Acquisitionsbefore changing his portfolio roles in the Export Sales Divisionin early 2014. At PLI, Hafiz was dealingwith strategic market development and penetration into the Middle East, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He successfully set up PLI’s business in Dubai with an unprecedented sales volume for the initial year of operation.Hafiz joined Hyrax Oil in August 2014 and currently playing pivotal roles in the strategic marketing and international sales of Hyrax’s products and services, mainly focusing in the Middle East and North African markets..

Jufryzal Bin Ishak

Operations Director

Upon completing his MBA from Cardiff University, UK, Jufryzal joins Petronas in 1998 as Market Development Executive in charge of developing Petronas’ global lubricant business. With 17 years of experience in the lubricant industry serving various functions such as market development executive, procurement manager, plant manager and head of export sales for Petronas Lubricants International (Asia Pacific), Jufryzal join Hyrax in August 2014 as the General Manager of Sales and Marketing. He is responsible to further grow Hyrax domestic and international lubricant business and put Hyrax brand as one of the known global brand for lubricant.

Zaini Bin Yaakub

General Manager, Quality Assurance

Zaini obtained his BSc (Hons) in Applied Chemistry from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom in 1993. He started his professional career as a chemist at Inchcape International, Malaysia in 1994 before joining Hyrax Oil in 1995.

Eddy Rizal Bin Zakariah

Assistant General Manager, Warehouse & Logistics.

Eddy holds a Diploma in Accountancy. He joined Hyrax Oil as an Accounts Executive in 1997 and was promoted to Senior Finance & Operations Executive in year 2000. He left Hyrax Oil in 2002 to pursue a career in textile related business in Konsortium Usahawan Tekstil Sdn Bhd. Rejoined Hyrax Oil in year 2008 and played a key role in the promotion and marketing of Hyrax’s products both domestically and internationally..

Shazly Bin Che Ahmad

General Manager, Domestic Sales

Shazly holds a degree in Public Management (Hons) upon his graduation in 1998 from Universiti Utara Malaysia.  He started his career in the following year with the Perlis State’s civil service, handling several state government’s retail projects in the northern region before joining the private sector in 2005 in the line of petrochemical and lubricants industry based in Klang Valley.

In 2009, Shazly landed his progressive career with Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd where he started as a Warehouse Executive and later being promoted several times over the years and currently holding an important position as the General Manager in charge of domestic sales covering the corporate, industrial and retail accounts.  He is expected to play a key role in the consolidation of the sales operations of the company, especially on strategic alliances with corporate clients, business partners and local distributors.

Mohamad Zaharuddin

General Manager, International Sales

Mohamad Zaharuddin holds a Diploma in Business Management from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) after graduating in 1989.  He started his career as Production Executive in 1990 in Texas Instrument (Malaysia) and was able to effectively demonstrate and impressed his employer by consistently meeting production targets within his short stint in the company.

Soon after that, he joined Advent Malaysia Sdn Bhd in 1992 as a Sales Manager and achieved high monthly sales value steadily during his tenure and later he was promoted to Group Sales and Marketing Director in early 1994.

In the late 1994, Mohamad Zaharuddin was offered to join D’or Rue Sdn Bhd as a Technical and Operation Director, whereby, he was in-charged of managing the company’s daily operation activities.  He was very instrumental in boosting the production efficiency level of the company which resulted in increased of annual total sales revenue to surpass RM10 million benchmark. 

With his over 30 years of working experience and strength in production and sales background, he joined Hyrax Oil Sdn Bhd in 2019 as International Sales Manager and has demonstrated his capability in opening up additional international markets.  Consistently proving his sales capability, he was then promoted to General Manager of International Sales in 2021.

Nurulhayah Binti Nasir

Group Chief Financial Officer

Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Law from De Monfort University, Leicester, UK. Has 20 years in Corporate and Commercial Business banking field. Started career in 1994 with CIMB Bank Bhd. Held various roles and responsibilities from Regional Corporate Banking of then Bank of Commerce, and later Commercial and Midcorp business customers of the Bank. Has 16 years managerial experience in business centres of CIMB Bank in Klang Valley and in Perak, spearheading the team to manage business portfolios as well as marketing new businesses to capture wider market presence and enhance earnings contributions. Was also having dual roles as one of approval lending authority committee. Later joined Agrobank, , prior to joining Hyrax Oil.
